fat intake

Here's a good post by Howard about what the experts (the ones we like) say about fat intake.  I'm going to monitor mine with this CRONometer program and try to determine what's ideal for me.

Barb,

In my consideration of % fat intake, I am trying to resist the temptation to micromanage the macronutrient %s. Joel advises against that and I agree. But, the experts we respect are so apart on the fat issue I am curious about it and want to find the "answer." I suspect there is no one answer for everyone. And since I refuse to go to the doctor and have my blood lipids checked, I may never know for sure. It'll be what feels good, a result that will not make the medical or nutritional journals.

One thing in Joel's favor is that he has treated tens of thousands of patients and has first-hand experience, many results of which have not appeared in the journals either. It will be interesting to see what we learn from our own experiments.

I also downloaded the software and its interesting to see what I come up with. Maybe we can share recipes or new foods as we enter them since it's somewhat limited. I found a site that shares some here http://www.sonic.net/~mollyf/recipes/

Hi Curious,

I have a mac and I don't see the export option for my foods. I notice some of the stuff in the FAQs don't apply to the mac. Maybe it's not as fully developed as the windows version?
