posted a week or two ago, so I just updated the post a bit and added a few pictures. Maybe I'm just insane to think this is so good, but hey, as long as I'm happy with it.

Hi Melissa! You're my new FAVE fan! I actually like kohlrabi raw, like I showed in this post:

but it's great cooked too. It can be used in place or in addition to onions, potatoes, or veggies. I'd say it'd be good in any dish. probably takes only about 10-15 minutes to cook (steaming), only 1-2 min. in pressure cooker.

ok, Barb. I bought a few kohlrabi's! Now, do I peel it, and just cut it in chunks and eat it? The pics of yours in the salad(s) look like they had leafy stuff on them, unless that was other veggies mixed in your salad. ?? Mine is just a hard ball-looking thing! LOL
for the kohlrabi, I peel the outer layer off with a paring knife. It can be pretty tough in places. Then I slice it in to sticks. Yes, in that picture I think I had dumped the slices on top of a bowl of spinach or and herbs. Let me know if you like them okay. You can also steam them like you do any other cooked veggie---that is probably a much gentler introduction so you should try that if you don't like them raw. And try them mixed in with soups. They are like any veggie, and you don't need a specific recipe to throw them into the mix. :)
